Corporate life is usually characterized by working a 9-5 schedule (give or take), within a traditionally structured organization or company. Individuals who work traditional corporate jobs likely have their set schedule, a boss that he/she reports to and specific work tasks that fall under their umbrella as an employee. For some people, this is the dream and they thrive off of the structure laid out for them.
For others, however, corporate life may feel like a ‘ball and chain’ relationship, and one that they desperately want to get out of.
Here are four signs that corporate life may not be for you, and what you can do about it.
Performing the same tasks day in and day out may be good for some because they thrive on knowing what is happening before it happens. For others, however, it may feel suffocating. If you seek a position that always keeps you on your toes, perhaps corporate life isn’t for you. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with seeking out new opportunities that remain exciting and aren’t the same old thing day after day!
While corporate life absolutely has room for growth, it can be challenging to become a boss and climb up the corporate ladder at the speed in which you would like. If you are constantly struggling with someone telling you what to do (and when to do it), it may be time to find a more independent venture outside of the traditional workplace.
Some people are perfectly content with going to work from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, clocking in and out of a job that simply serves as a means of income for them. While that can absolutely work for a lot of people, not everyone has that same feeling. If you are looking for something that fuels your soul and excites you when you are on and off the clock, consider finding a career that feels like a passion project!
As we stated previously, corporate life can feel mundane for some, especially if you feel like you aren’t growing as an individual and you aren’t reaping the benefits necessary to justify your corporate life. If you are seeking a new chapter in your life, one where you can gain financial and personal fulfillment and independence, entrepreneurship may be for you!
I check all these boxes, so now what?!
If you resonated with the four above points, it may be time to start thinking about making a career change. Leaving the comfortability of corporate life may be scary for some, although they know deep down it is the right decision for them. Ultimately, it is about what will make you happy and the type of career that will propel you forward to becoming the best version of yourself possible.
Here at F45 Training, we help guide you through the process of finding what the next step for your career will be. Some of our franchisees come to us from the corporate world and tell us that they are nervous about taking the step towards entrepreneurship. While we completely understand and empathize with those who feel that way, it’s our job to help educate them on the benefits of becoming a franchise owner within our network.
The F45 family opens its arms to any individual who seeks to push themselves into a career that will benefit the community, allow them to push themselves as an entrepreneur and gives them the chance to truly love the work they’re doing. Owning an F45 studio has the potential to change the lives of both our members and our owners. You don’t have to have experience in the fitness industry to become an owner, either! Quite simply, you just have to want it.
But don’t take our word for it, hear directly from one of our franchise owners, interviewed by Entrepreneur! Read the full story here.
