2020 has been quite the year for fitness studio owners. Their resiliency has been tested, their passion for helping others has been pushed to the limit, and they have had to rise above the unfathomable. Despite the challenges that this year has thrown at our industry, we have collectively come out on the other side of this predicament stronger than ever, and now the data shows that we have reason to believe the fitness industry will continue to thrive and prosper, long after this pandemic ends.
It has been a long road to prove that gyms are a place of positivity for people during a chaotic and stressful time. People need to focus on their health and wellness now more than ever, but it became increasingly challenging with people assuming that gyms were an unsafe place to be. Thankfully, there has been a recent data release that confirms what we have believed all along: the gym is, always has been, and always will be a safe place for people.
According to the IHRSA and MXM, 2,873 fitness studios or gyms participated in a study where they offered their data over the span of three months. As you can see from the infographic below, there were 49.4 million check-ins in the duration of time the data was shared and collected.
During that timespan, the gyms and fitness studios also reported that there was only a 0.0023% infection rate within members, with no evidence of COVID positive cases originating from the studios or gyms themselves.
The infographic also goes into detail about how the CDC views regular exercise and its impact on the American people. To learn more about their findings, we invite you to take a look below!
F45 Training is committed to providing our members with the safest and cleanest experience possible. We are constantly reminding our studios to adhere to all of their local government regulations, as well as to promote consistent and thorough cleaning of our studios. Our goal always has been and will continue to be to provide our clients with the highest-quality training programs that we can offer in a safe, fun, inclusive environment.
Franchise owners will continue to run classes that adhere to local sanctions and restrictions, such as offering outdoor classes, on-demand or at-home workouts, or traditional classes in a pod format. Franchisees will also ensure that they schedule classes throughout the day with ample time to clean in between classes, sets, etc.
We are dedicated to operating with the utmost care, confidence, and precision. Our hope is to continue to encourage our local communities to work out to help with their emotional, mental and physical health. We are in this together and we will get through this together.
